The Groom a Child to Excel or GRACE Mentorship Programme will allow grassroots leaders from the Women Executive Committees to nurture the girls and allow them to reach their fullest potential."
Not only the young under-privileged girls will get help, but Here’s help, single mums too.
"Unwed mums in tougher spot
Mdm Halimah said the :“WeCare for U” project is open to all single mothers, including unwed ones. Such mums often find themselves in even tougher situations, as they are not entitled to Government-funded maternity leave or tax relief because of their unwed status.
Calling this a “controversial issue”, Mdm Halimah said certain policies would be difficult to change as they were intended to encourage procreation within a family unit. For now, she feels the core focus should be on helping all single mums attain independence by helping them find jobs and providing social support"
It's indeed "controversial", not only in terms of national policies for single mums, but also their moral implications.
