Update on TWOS Family Hi-Tea Relaxing Treat

Thank God for the enjoyable and relaxing treat for ourselves and our families at Comfort Place (Paragon) on 8 Dec 08. It was a good time of catching up with old friends and members we don't have much time to fellowship with (though we do see each other in church on Sundays).

With the downturn of the economy and a strong comment by someone that it wasn't sensible to have such 'enjoyment' I was somewhat discouraged at first. But I was glad that there were 14 of us on that day.

I really hope that more ladies will come forward to help us plan and organize events like this (once or twice a year) for 2009. Kindly contact me if you are keen to help.

Wishing everybody here a blessed and bright 2009.

TWOS Fellowship Through the Years

Hi Ladies,

Unknowingly, TWOS have been around for over a year, since August 2007.

We have tried various monthly fellowship time and day (both Sat and Sun) to suit as many ladies' preferences as possible. However, as usual, it seems impossible to satisfy everybody's unique preferences without sufficient committed and available volunteers. As there is no one available to lead the Sat Fellowship it has stopped since the beginning of 2008.

Our monthly Sunday TWOS Fellowship remains, and the next one will be held tomorrow as follow:

TWOS Fellowship

When

Sun, Oct 5, 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Where
Alpha & Omega (map)
159 Amtech Building, Level 2, (Lobby 1 Lift)

Description
We will be doing a topical study on "Spiritual Skincare".
All ladies are welcome to our fellowship.

We are still looking for more lady volunteers who would like to help make TWOS Fellowship a meaningful and successful one. If you like to help please contact the TWOS Admin anytime.

Cheers!

What is in my hands

It's been half a year since I last posted at this blog. I have been very busy with my work all the time. I did have a longer break in the month of June/July 08 though. However, new work soon caught up with me from August 08 onward. Since then, I have been fully engaged in lecturing at various training institutions daily, sometimes lecturing more than 2 sessions per day.

It's good to know that I still enjoy teaching after laying it off for awhile and performed more management and leadership roles at work. Lecturing help me refresh my knowledge and trainings in the field of early childhood education as I train preschool teachers and principals.

Lately, I have been pondering about our TWOS Fellowship. We have just celebrated TWOS 1st year anniversary during our last TWOS fellowship on 3 Aug 08 (2 months ago). Time really flies! We canceled the Sep 08 TWOS Fellowship due to too many church activities for that month. Our next TWOS fellowship will be on this Sunday at 2 pm.

In my quiet moment yesterday, I asked myself, "What is it that I have in my hands that I can give it to the Lord and let it be used to help the ladies." Then I 'saw' in my hands the trainings and knowledge in early childhood education. How can I use them in TWOS? Perhaps, to help sisters/ladies in developing the skills in management of children? Or perhaps, to start something related to women and children?

I am not too sure what the Lord wants me to do with what I have and can do. I only know that I am willing if He leads me on....

TWOS Fellowship Schedule

Dear Sisters & Ladies,

Sorry to inform those of you who are regular at our monthly Saturday TWOS Fellowship that the Saturday fellowship will be temporarily suspended for 2008 or till further notice.

The reason being that I have to work on almost every Saturday (full day) for the next few months and I couldn't find any sister/lady willing to lead the Saturday TWOS Fellowship at the moment. If any of you feel led to lead the Saturday TWOS Fellowship, kindly let me know so that the meetings can be resumed earlier.

On a more positive note, our Sunday TWOS Fellowship will be conducted monthly on:
Day: 1st Sunday of the month (subject to changes)

Time: 2 pm to 3.30 pm or 4 pm (if we have invited speaker)

Venue: Alfa & Omega, 159 Sin Ming Road, #02-02, Amtech Bldg

See you soon!

3rd Sunday TWOS Fellowship

Thank God that the number of ladies attending each Sunday TWOS Fellowship is growing....

We had only 5 ladies attending our 1st Sunday TWOS Fellowship held in Jan 08, which was already great... for Jesus said in Matthew 18: 20, "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."
(Present: Dorothy, Patricia, Jyanthi, Mrs Ellan and Betty)

We had 6 ladies joining our 2nd Sunday TWOS Fellowship held in Mar 08. The ladies had a great time sharing something deep within their hearts.
(Present: Margaret, Jennifer, Cynthia, Mrs Ellan, Betsy, Betty)

Our 3rd Sunday TWOS Fellowship was held last week with 11 ladies, including the speaker, Dr Leah. See the 'evidence below'. *grin*
(Present: Dr Leah, Grace, Amelia, Linda, Tresa, Maryaan, Del, Cynthia, Mrs Ellan, Betsy, Betty)

The following is an account of Dr Leah's message recorded by sister Tresa:

Speaker: Leah Rentz-Hemphill at TWOs meeting on Sunday, 6 Apr 08

Background setting: 11 ladies present, including the Speaker, Dr Leah.

As Maryanne read from Genesis 16......, Leah with her veil over her head, enacted scene in which u saishe, as Hagar, met the angel of the Lord at a spring, after her escape from Sarah (her mistress).
At the spring, Hagar said "I have now seen the One who sees me."

Leah's word from the Lord in 2008: To tell His daughters (Christian ladies), "Daughters Meet Me at the Well."

What an impact and blessing we ladies received that afternoon!
DESTINY, TRANSFORMATION, STRENGTH FOR DAYS AHEAD AWAITS YOU!!!

Question: What is it in you that's keeping you from coming to me? Put aside whatever you have been through, "Come, daughter, and I WILL meet you at the well.....if you will purposefully and intentionally come to the well to meet me daily. I have a destiny for you on the earth, a purpose, a plan for you; I will alter your life and you will never be the same again."

Women in the Bible, whose encounter with God at their well/s and how it altered their lives :

Hagar First time, the Lord comforted her and told her to return to her mistress. HE also gave her the name, Ishmael, for her son in her womb.

Second time, the Lord heard her son's cries and opened Hagar's eyes to a well so she could get water for her son and to continue their journey to Egypt.(Gen21). Sadly, unlike the other women, Hagar, whospoke to the angel of the Lord, never ever knew the Lord personally and eventually took a wife from Egypt for her son; the beginning of the Arab world.

Rebekah She met Abraham's servant, who was looking for a wife for Abraham's son and she eventually became Isaac's wife.(Gen 24)

Samaritan woman Jesus gave her living water for a lifetime (John 4)

Rachel She met Jacob at the well. Not only was her life affected, it affected Leah's life. Leah(meaning wild cow) was a secondary woman, not the chosen one, yet she became the mother of Judah which became the lineage from which Jesus was born. (Gen 29)

Do you ever feel secondary to another or be made to feel inferior? Remember God sees each of us through His eyes.

U want to see a miracle? Look in the mirror...there's the miracle...You!.... a child of God.God DOES NOT consult our past to determine our future. HE CHOOSES US!

Meet the Lord at the well anytime of the day. It need not require fasting, beating up yourself ; Hagar met the Lord in the wilderness, the Samaritan woman came in the middle of the day to do her regular chore of collecting water and so did Rachel, Rebekah.

All you have to do is to PURPOSE yourself to meet Him and He will meet and transform you.You need to know what is in God's heart for you these days, come to His well.

The Lord is constantly transforming us in our walk with Him. do not put your hand to cap the well.

The time is near, the end is coming, God needs his daughters to stand beside other daughters and men to be equipped to expand His territory. We have been bought at a price; live to do His will now.

Take note:
- First evangelist was the Samaritan woman who went out to the city to tell the people (everyone including Jews and those who looked down on her) about the Messiah she met at the well . The People came out to hear and they believed. She changed the city with her evangelism

- First woman to see Jesus after His resurrection was Mary Magdalene.

- Jesus, came to the earth, from the womb of a woman

So God is calling his daughters from street corners, hilltops, valleys, mansions, church buildings, across the nations to expand His kingdom.

Sometimes, we may face a situation of to whom u have to submit ; your husband or God. Pray always that the Lord will in us (both husband and wife) to do His will with the least of conflict.

SO, DAUGHTERS, PURPOSEFULLY CHOOSE TO MEET THE LORD AT THE WELL, EVERYDAY. Only He can strengthen you, give you the courage, equip you, to prepare for the days ahead.

1st Sunday TWOS Fellowship 2008

We had our first Sunday TWOS Fellowship yesterday.... the first time we had it on a Sunday, at 2.30 pm. It was specially arranged for ladies who couldn't attend our monthly Saturday TWOS Fellowship.

A few days before the fellowship I had doubt that the sisters would join the fellowship, except for sister Dorothy who had promised to be the musician and thus would come. But the Lord reminded me of Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." With that I decided that even if the meeting had only two ladies (Dorothy and I), God would still be with us and the fellowship would still be meaningful.

Thank God that there were five of us in the TWOS Fellowship yesterday. Yes, I was very encouraged indeed! The four who came were those who couldn't join us for the Saturday TWOS Fellowship. Isn't it worth having it though our number was small? We had a good time of sharing about ourselves, about God's goodness, and our prayer needs (we hardly have chance to do that though we meet in church every Sunday). We prayed for our church leaders too. :)

Since the Sunday TWOS Fellowship is only held once every 2 months, I really hope that more sisters will come along to join us. I also hope that the brothers will form their own Men's Fellowship while the ladies have theirs. :P

See you at our next meeting, ladies!

Welcome 2008

Brothers (Sisters), I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.

But one thing I do:

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

I press on toward the goal to win the prize
for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

- Philippians 3:13-14

Dear Ladies and Sisters in Christ,

Once again another year has passed us by. Whatever it had been, seemingly good or bad, God has seen us through and another new year has begun.....

I want to thank all of you, ladies, for supporting our TWOS Fellowship which started in August 07. It's wonderful that we could spend time together to share with each other the things that only women understand. :D

I hope to see all of you again in 2008 during our TWOS Fellowship to share your blessings and trials. Let's run this race together.

For 2008, we will be having additional Sunday TWOS Fellowship. Our fellowship dates and time for 2008 will be as follow (subject to change):
